MAIA’S MOON LODGE LEARNING SERIES

The female hormonal cycle is an intricate, interconnected dance of chemical messages and shifting energies, signaling miraculous processes in the body. In this rotating series of classes I offer practical information and tools to help women build health, resilience, and well-being by consciously aligning with their moon cycle.

What To Know To Go With Your Flow

In this workshop, theories from both Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Western medical model contribute to our understanding of the menstrual cycle as an expression of underlying health.  We’ll take an in-depth look at what’s happening in the bodymind each phase of the cycle and what we can do to work with those processes instead of against them. Learn how to tune into and support the changing rhythms of your female cycle with phase-appropriate foods, exercise, and lifestyle choices to experience a greater sense of ease and flow throughout the month.

This 4-hour training is interactive and includes time for group exercises, discussion, self-inquiry, and a break. Participants will leave with handouts and resources for further exploration.

NEXT CLASSES: Sunday 4/5/20, 1-5 pm & Saturday 5/9/20, 1-5 pm

Meal Plan With The Moon

Drawing on western nutrition and Chinese dietary therapy, this class offers a guide to the most supportive foods for each phase of the hormonal cycle. Participants will have a chance to sample some seasonal, cycle-supportive foods and will go home with notes, a four-phase shopping list, and a few recipes.

Moon Lodge Cooking

This interactive class provides recipes, tips and techniques for preparing simple foods to support your menstrual cycle. The focus will change each month; sometimes highlighting a single, beneficial ingredient used in several ways, sometimes exploring different foods with similar properties, and at times we’ll experiment with a specific theme. Recipes derive from Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine, various ethnic cuisines, and Maia’s own creations. Participants will taste everything we make and go home with recipes.

Special Interest Series

Once a month we’ll delve into specific topics of interest pertaining to the ongoing pursuit of hormonal health and overall well-being. Classes are shorter and are generally comprised of a lecture-demo and casual conversation.
